Registre des : Measure, Manage and Showcase Your Carbon Management Results
CSA's Registries' provide an independent and transparent listing service, based on existing best practices and/or standards.
GHG Registries are public rosters of different types of organizations, such as corporations, building owners and others that have made a commitment to manage, measure, and report their GHG emissions inventory or project-based reductions and removals. CSA Standards' GHG registries are useful tools for organizations managing their carbon footprint.

Taking a leadership position on climate change can help create value for your business, give you a competitive edge and prepare you for a future regulated carbon environment. Going the extra step and achieving carbon neutrality can be a valuable component of good corporate social responsibility. Substantiating and communicating carbon neutral claims and avoiding "greenwashing" accusations can, however, be challenging for businesses.

To receive the CSA Registered Carbon NeutralTM Label and get listing on the Program Registry, you will need to demonstrate that you have measured your carbon footprint, had it verified by an independent third-party, and acquired and retired eligible validated and verified emission reductions or removals to offset all your reported GHG emissions.
There are currently three Program Labels available:
CSA Standards has been at the forefront of delivering standards-based solutions for over 90 years and has built on our experience in environmental and sustainability standards to develop this unique new program. CSA has also been instrumental in the development of the ISO 14064 series of international GHG quantification, reporting, verification and accreditation standards that are used worldwide to support GHG programs. The CSA Registered Carbon NeutralTM Program is based on the application of these ISO 14064 standards and additional program requirements.

The Reductions Registry will accept projects that quantify reduction or removal efforts, if properly documented and verified, that can include projects that are not limited to just the six GHGs as listed in the Kyoto Protocol and the ISO 14064 standards. For example, projects in the Reductions Registry can include projects which target ozone depleting substances.
The Reductions Registry provides a public listing for the three former different government trading pilots: PERT - Pilot Emission Reductions Trading, GERT - Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions Trading pilot, and PERRL - Pilot Emission Removals, Reductions and Learnings Initiative.
Independent third-party verification is required for serialization of Registered Emission Reductions (RER).

Challenge Registry
Effective January 1, 2012, GHG Registries will not be accepting new submissions to the Challenge Registry.
The Challenge Registry and the Champion-level Reporting System was Canada's only voluntary publicly accessible national registry of greenhouse gas baselines, targets, and reductions. The primary objective of the Registry was to challenge the registrants from all economic sectors and geographic regions to demonstrate meaningful actions which contribute towards the reduction of Canada's GHG emissions.
There is a high level of complementarity between the Challenge Registry's Champion-level Reporting System for entity and facility based reporting and the ISO 14064 series of standards for GHGs and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) "Greenhouse Gas Protocol"; therefore, we hope and encourage the past Challenge Registry participants to update or maintain their emission tracking efforts through the use of one of the two Registries: GHG CleanStartTM Registry and/or the CSA Registered Carbon NeutralTM Program Registry.
