Challenge Registry: Home
Welcome to the Challenge Registry
Effective January 1, 2012, GHG Registries will not be accepting new submissions to the Challenge Registry.
The Challenge Registry and the Champion-level Reporting System was Canada's only voluntary publicly accessible national registry of greenhouse gas baselines, targets, and reductions. The primary objective of the Registry was to challenge the registrants from all economic sectors and geographic regions to demonstrate meaningful actions which contribute towards the reduction of Canada's GHG emissions.
There is a high level of complementarity between the Challenge Registry's Champion-level Reporting System for entity and facility based reporting and the ISO 14064 series of standards for GHGs and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) "Greenhouse Gas Protocol"; therefore, we hope and encourage the past Challenge Registry participants to update or maintain their emission tracking efforts through the use of one of the two Registries: GHG CleanStartTM Registry and/or the CSA Registered Carbon NeutralTM Program Registry.
